East Anglia Wing Chun Athletic - Brighton Chapter

East Anglia Wing Chun Athletic - Brighton Chapter

Wing Chun Kung Fu is a Chinese martial art that suits all body shapes, male and female, young and old, by relying on technique and speed to defeat your opponent rather than strength or size. It is particularly useful in self defense situations as it specialises in close quarter combat, using strikes to vulnerable areas to end fights quickly. The class is small and friendly and we welcome people with no martial arts experience and of course those who tried other or who currently do other martial arts. The we value and encourage the exchange of ideas. The class is open to men and women age 16 an over. Your first lesson is free and from then on £8 per class, paid monthly. We train on Thursday evenings 20:00-22:00.

AU Office, Sports Park, University of Exeter, Stocker Road , Exeter ,
Exeter University Athletics Club is bigger and better than it has ever been! We have a whole range of athletes from those who are just trying to get fit all the way through to international competitors. Full membership is £70 for the year, which includes all training and coaching, socials, insurance, BUCS affiliation and AU affiliation. At £70 EUAC membership is one of the cheapest in the whole university, and you can be guaranteed that you will get your moneys worth! We were the most improved club in 2010, nominated for club of the year in 2011 and 2012, and this year we’re aiming even higher! Unlike other clubs, we don't hold trials and we all train together as one big group, with specific sessions for each discipline. This means that there is an incredibly relaxed atmosphere to training, and within the club as a whole, so it really doesn’t matter if you haven’t done athletics for a few years! Many of our members started out as social runners and have now progressed to become some of our most committed members in the club! Whether it is road running, cross-country or track and field that you’re into, we have something to offer you! There are loads of opportunities to compete throughout the year, with last year’s track and field team heading to London’s Olympic Stadium for the test event for the 2012 Games! Competitions range from local leagues all the way up to national championships, so there is something for everyone! We have a massive variety in training - track sessions, gym sessions, circuits, long runs, hills sessions, beach sessions and much more, and you can do as many or as few as you wish. Sessions are led by qualified top class coaches who can help you achieve whatever goals you’re working towards; head coach Sonya Ellis is highly qualified in coaching all athletic disciplines. We also work closely with the Exeter Triathlon Club and have Rob Moore, a British triathlon coach, as part of our coaching team who can help those of you trying to balance athletics training with other sports. Exeter University Athletic Club is a fantastic club; we work hard but play hard too! Please have a look around the site and if any questions/ problems/ enquires please get in contact!
